Structure Fire at 9576 E. Pixie Parkway

The Turkey Creek Fire Territory responded to a report of a structure fire with all occupants out of the structure at 2:15 PM on Thursday January 4, 2018. Upon arrival of the first fire department personnel, the structure was noted to be fully engulfed with fire. All of the occupants were out of the structure with no reported injuries. Additional manpower and additional water supply with tenders was provided by the North Webster Fire Department and the Ligonier Fire Department. The fire was brought under control at 2:44 PM with the structure and contents noted to be a total loss as a result of the fire. Damage was sustained to a nearby structure at 11926 N. Raggedy Ann Rd. as a result of exposure to the heat from the fire. Damages to both structures and contents was estimated at between $40,000.00 and $50,000.00. The owner of the structure at 9576 E. Pixie Parkway is Arturo Mendoza and the occupant of the structure was Andrea Lopez. The owner of the structure at 11926 N. Raggedy Ann Road is listed as Gail Mast. The American Red Cross assisted the occupants of the structure at 9576 E. Pixie Parkway with clothing, as well as other needs. There were no injuries to firefighters and the last fire crews cleared the scene at 4:39 PM>
