A new grass/ brush fire truck has been ordered from 1st Attack Engineering, Inc. of Waterloo, In. The bid awarded was for $100,865.00. There is an estimated 18 week delay from the time of order of the new Ford chassis until the time of delivery to the manufacturer. The new chassis has been ordered. This truck will also have a removable snowplow blade.
Repair parts are obtained and repairs are completed on the backup generator for the radio repeater tower on Kern Rd.
The Turkey Creek Fire Territory, in an effort to increase awareness and protect our community from the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, is providing free carbon monoxide detectors to everyone that cannot afford one. Members of the Turkey Creek Fire Territory have moved to the second story of Station #1. On the second floor, new facilities include: a new training/ meeting room; a physical fitness room; a new kitchen area; a new dayroom; new restrooms and showers; new bunk rooms and a new report room. The work is continuing by Allen County Builders with the renovation and improvement of areas on the first floor.

The automatic backup generator on Kern Rd. for the radio repeater tower sustained damage due to lightning as a severe storm passed through the area. Arrangements for repairs are made.
The remount of Rescue Truck #1 to a 2015 International Harvester chassis is completed and the truck is delivered to us by Life Star Rescue, Inc.
Several personnel with apparatus and equipment attended the annual Wawasee Property Owners Association/ Syracuse Lake Association breakfast at the Oakwood Inn. A display of equipment for viewing and discussion with fire department and EMS personnel is provided.
